      Days 21, 22 & 23

Covenant & Commitment & Connection

In seeing these three words, one after another, I could not help but see  the importance of them together. They just seem to belong together.

Covenant - to come; a coming together; a meeting or agreement of minds

Commitment - the act of binding yourself (intellectually or emotionally) to a course of action

Connection -a relation between things or events - the act of bringing two things into contact (especially for communication) Covenant, Commitment, Connection – all important elements to a good relationship, actually all necessary in order for a relationship to thrive. I saw this on the Urban Dictionary web site: (italic words are added by me) Commitment is what transforms the promise (covenant)  into reality.
It is the words (connection – communication)  that speak boldly of your intentions.
And the actions which speak louder than the words.
It is making the time when there is none.
Coming through time after time after time,
year after year after year.
Commitment is the stuff character is made of;
The power to change the face of things.
It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism. When I say I love you, I mean that I'm committed to working to love you even when it's hard. by Ashbash January 13, 2005 Urban Dictionary

God continued to make new covenants (new agreements)  with His people, because they would continue to break the previous ones. Yet He never gave up – He continued to love, even when it was hard, year after year. He had made a commitment to His people, He was invested fully – He had a binding relationship, that He was not willing to give up on, because connection with His people was worth the greatest gift He had to give – His son and He was willing to give him fully, it would cost Him part of himself to see this connection even have a chance.

Covenant, Commitment, Connection – Love in action
